Nice mall. Tuesday, the movie theater charges $7 for any regular movie. So come here to watch movies. Why pay more.
Southland mall needs to improve the kids’ playground. The variety of shops is adequate, the place looks a little bit run down and not as pretty as other Miami area malls. Food court choices are average and there is a fun carousel for kids.
It's a small but more convenient mall than the bigger mall further north called Dadeland Mall. There is not as much variety. I like that because less overwhelming and the parking in Southland Mall is less stressful.
For parents, the play area is garbage. The anchor stores are ok. The best features here: Buffalo Wild Wings, Bath and Body Works, a carousel that the kids will love, and a serviceable food court. Negatives: nothing exciting here, so so theater where kids get away with making too much noise, run down play area where kids that are too big run wild, low budget patronage.
Lots of stores, large department stores along with novelty shops. Food court ok. Make sure your food is hot from those that offer cooked meals. I had to have them microwave my lunch because it was barely warm.
